Why Sulfate Free Products?

Sulfate Free cosmetics, or more accurately SLS free cosmetics are a hot topic in the beauty industry. Beauty has been a part of woman’s life for centuries and cosmetic companies want to keep you looking good while also being conscious of your health. Sulfated chemicals are used as detergents because they produce lather when mixed with water that is excellent for washing clothes and dishes but not so great on your skin.

The chemicals in Sulfate Free products are not what is bad. The problem occurs when the chemicals mix with water and form an aerosol that will then be inhaled into your lungs. If you want to get rid of the lather, use synthetic detergents such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate
