Millie Bobby Brown’s Jet Black Bob With Bangs Is So Cute

Seventeen-year-old star Millie Bobby Brown has stuck to soft waves and sleek middle parts for most of her young career, but she just debuted her biggest beauty change-up since she shaved her head for Stranger Things: bangs and a bob.

The Enola Holmes actor posted a picture of herself enjoying a sandwich in the sunshine on Tuesday, December 14, in which her fringe is perfectly imperfect. Her hair, now darker than its usual chestnut brown, is pulled back, revealing small gold hoop earrings that subtly frame her face. A perfect cute-casual lunchtime look!

Brown, who also has a beauty line, Florence by Mills, teased her hair transformation earlier this week, posting a Polaroid of herself next to a giant chess piece, peering up at the camera through dark bangs. Her hair is noticeably shorter and could be a wig, but this latest post makes us think she really got the chop.

She wrote, “i’m already grown up, i just get older,” in the caption, a paraphrase of a line from The Professional, Natalie Portman’s first movie. Millie Bobby Brown has often been compared to Portman, both because of her dramatic maturity onscreen at a young age and because of their physical resemblance. (Portman even did an impression of Brown’s ST character Eleven on SNL.) In The Professional, Portman wears her hair…exactly like this. So that’s one explanation, though we aren’t sure how or if the chess piece is part of it.

Fans were quick to comment “Nora” on the picture, a reference to Brown’s upcoming role as Nora O’Malley in the feature adaptation of Tess Sharpe’s novel The Girls I’ve Been. Though IMDb currently lists the project as “pre-production” and doesn’t name an attached director, the picture may be a hint that cameras are getting ready to roll. Oh, and Millie’s also a producer on the project, no biggie.
