Are Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck teasing us? Because J.Lo just dressed as a literal bride.

Lopez channeled “Like a Virgin”–era Madonna at the 2021 American Music Awards Sunday night, November 21. For her performance, J.Lo wore a cream corseted gown with a satin sash and sleeves and a full tulle skirt that went nearly to her ankles. She accessorized with a white flower fascinator with a bedazzled veil and nude high-heeled lace-up boots.

During the performance, Lopez threw the veil into the crowd, revealing her hair in a tight bun. Lopez performed her new single “On My Way,” which is from her upcoming movie Marry Me, in theaters February. (This explains the wedding gown!)

The movie, directed by Kat Coiro and based on a graphic novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby, follows a world-famous pop star named Kat Valdez (J.Lo), who plans to marry her musician fiancé (Maluma) in front of a live audience. Unfortunately, Kat’s fiancé is caught cheating on her with her assistant right as the ceremony is about to happen. Enter Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson), a teacher and regular single dad who attends the event in person. He’s holding a sign that says “Marry me?” and Kat decides to marry him. And there we have it: A classic Jennifer Lopez rom com.

Just last week Lopez said she is open to getting married again. “I don’t know,” Lopez said on Today. “Yeah, I guess. You know me, I’m a romantic, I always have been.… I still believe in happily ever after, for sure, 100%…. If you can’t laugh at yourself and just take it as it comes, I just don’t think about those things. I feel like I’m a human being like everybody else. I’ve had my ups and downs, I’ve made mistakes, and I’m really proud of where I’ve come to in my life and who I am as a person, as a mom, and as an actor, and as an artist. So yeah it’s okay, everybody’s got that.”
