A Fall Skin Reset with Lifestyle Guru Denise Vasi

Denise Vasi doesn’t wait for the new year to reset her skin routine. The back-to-school moment is a better time, insists the actress, digital content creator, and founder of the lifestyle website maed. “I spent my summer indulging in Italy, so I’m jumping back into clean beauty, wellness, and self-care for fall,” she says. “I’m excited to explore new routines, do a detox, and nourish and prepare my skin for the colder, harsher months.” Vasi, whose passion for clean beauty started at an early age when she would watch her grandmother explore mineral sunscreens and natural makeup brands, does her reset together with her followers on maed as a five-week challenge with step-by-step beauty tutorials, Q&A’s, and more. Here, from high-tech devices and powerful exfoliators to a must-have pop of color and a brand-new hair secret, are Vasi’s personal reset essentials for fall.

NOURISHING SKIN ESSENTIALS

I try to drink sixty-four to eighty ounces of water daily—it’s not an easy goal for me to hit, but goop’s citrusy powder is a longtime favorite of mine. It tastes amazing, and I love that it’s made with skin-nourishing antioxidants.*

This oil cleanser is fantastic, especially if I’ve been shooting all day. I give it a shake and it turns from an oil into a creamy milk that easily removes my makeup without stripping my skin or leaving any residue behind.

When my skin is dull and needs a pick-me-up, I use the GOOPGLOW Microderm exfoliator. I recommend it to everyone. It gives my skin a gentle physical exfoliation and leaves me with an instant luminous glow without damaging my skin barrier or causing breakouts.

These spot-treating stickers are a must. They keep me from making the ultimate mistake—picking at my skin! (I show up at our school’s drop-off line unapologetically wearing these translucent little patches on my face.)

SILKY HAIR SERUM

I’ve been testing—and loving—goop’s new hair serum. It’s a preshampoo step: I section my hair into six sections, warm the oil in the palms of my hands, apply it evenly to each section from root to ends, then braid. After twenty minutes or so, I rinse my hair with warm water, then shampoo and condition. This helps seal in moisture and gives my hair incredible shine.

BODY-SOOTHING BRILLIANCE

With the winter approaching, I’m looking forward to warmer showers and adding goop’s body oil back into my body routine. This oil is fast-absorbing and hydrating, and the Indian black pepper scent is invigorating.

I dry brush every day for five minutes before jumping in the shower. The goop dry brush is bristle perfection and by far my favorite. The natural bristles are firm enough to rid your body of dead skin but not so firm that it hurts.

MIRACLE SKIN-BOOSTING TOOLS

I give myself a gua sha massage at least three to five times a week. It’s an ancient Chinese therapy that helps depuff and sculpt, and I find it ridiculously relaxing—it feels so good. I love the tool in this kit because it fits the curves of your face so well. It’s easy to use and versatile.

I’m fanatical about beauty-tech tools, and this one is worth the investment. If used consistently, I find LED light therapy (this one has both red and blue LED lights) helps my skin stay clear and firm.

EXTRA CREDIT: A POP OF COLOR FOR FALL

I cherish my Westman Atelier Lip Suede. It has four nourishing lip colors in one super chic compact—you almost want to pull it out to reapply. I originally bought it because I loved the bright-tomato and brick-red colors, but the dusty rose has been my go-to color lately. Sometimes I use a lip brush, and sometimes I dab a bit of color directly onto my lip with my finger. It’s an easy, high-quality, no-fuss lip product—100 percent worth it!
